Dog won't jump up on bed anymore

I think the moral of this 5-year-old thread is: if your dog's behavior and activity level have changed dramatically, take him or her to the vet.

talk to the vet. our dog stopped jumping on the bed. turned out he had arthritis (and a thyroid problem). both (thank goodness) treatable.

We got our dog a set of stairs for the bed, two years ago. His problem is his right back knee not his spine. He definitely has more trouble when it’s cold. He’s just getting older (just like his owners!).
