+1000 The landlord has a lot of gall to pull something like that on the tenant for the sake of saving a few hundred dollars. That's what rent is for. Cheapskate. |
I think the owner has to just accept he is a slumlord. |

Capital Weather Gang:The inside scoop on weather in the D.C. area and beyond Mid-Summer 2013 was second most humid in D.C.’s recorded history http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/ |
I own a house, a vacation house and between sales have rented houses out. I promise that if the AC was out - I wouldn't be worried about saving a buck and risking looking like a total d-bag. |
| Tenants, unless you are renting a luxury 1br condo at 15000 a month you are not the same class as home owners. |
| If you can't get anyone over, offer to pay for a hotel for them until it is fixed. |
Ding ding. Douche of the year award. (And I'm a homeowner). |
OP is able to get someone over, he's just to cheap to pay weekend summer rates. Doubt dropping money on hotel would make OP happy either. |
| I am a homeowner and I would wait for Monday because it's not that hot this weekend. I guess if I was a self entitled a hole I would complain. |
Actually, self entitled "tenants" should complain since they are not homeowners and their rent covers services for things like broken air conditioning despite a cooler weather forecast occurring over the weekend. |
Not that hot? It was humid yesterday and definitely hot and humid today. Unless the place in question is a one-level under a canopy of trees, it's going to get damn hot in that house. |
plenty hot now, and who knows when it will be fixed tomorrow (and if they have parts ability to fix monday, could stretch days). |
Haha, cause mortgages are free. |
