What should I help my future 3rd grader learn this summer?

My non-AAP kid learned the multiplication tables in a week and REALLY knew them. My AAP kid took months and kept having to go back and relearn them. Go figure.

That's great! I'm the OP. My son hates homework and only wants to play when we get home. So I'm only teaching him the time tables about 15 minutes per day. That's all he can handle LOL. If he had more focus, we could do this faster. I can see my youngest learning them a lot faster because she would be able to focus an hour straight no problem. I guess all kids are different.

I'm the OP. I just want to thank everyone for your comments. I feel encouraged that I was on the right track. Many thanks!

Good luck to you OP!

This was actually a civil and productive thread without any snark, name calling or criticizing children.

Nice to see!

Yes some gifted children are not so good with memorization even though they have good memories of events.
