We had one Springer Spaniel that came and I can't remember his name but I really liked him. I had a Springer as a kid though so that may be way I liked him so much. He was a bit weird, he didn't really play with the the other dogs. He was usually either laying in the sun, grumbling at the other dogs or trying to hump the other dogs. He was very sweet to us though.

The Basset Hounds were on the line. If they seemed to do well with the big dogs we kept them with them, but if they had a problem they would have gone in the little dog room. Both Bassets that came did great with the big dogs and so stayed in with them.

I can't remember having any Dutch Shepherds, but Shepherds in general we had to watch very carefully. They had a lot of energy and were a little unpredictable. They would be playing fine with another dog and then all of a sudden would get upset about something and would turn the playing into a fight. They were usually rowdy and if a gate was left open they would be the first to figure it out. One German Shepherd (Koda) I could tell was very loyal to his owner. He would sleep most of the day, but then everyday about ten minutes before his owner got there he would sit by the door and listen. I don't know how he did it but no matter how much noise the other dogs were making he always knew when his dad got there.

As I said, I never had any problems with any of the Golden Retrievers. It has been over a year since I worked there and their personalities are the ones I remember the most. I guess you could call them the teacher's pet, they were always trying to get your attention but never in an annoying way. Also sounds similar to our Goldendoodle. The place where we board him usually says he has about an hour a day where he's frisky and wants to play (usually with people, not the other dogs). The rest of the day he will just lounge around or sleep.

Anymore GSD stories? I've never taken mine to a daycare because over time, he has become possessive of items (could be a bone, ball, rope toy, doesn't matter - if another dog has a toy, he wants to have it and won't share. Wasn't always like this) and stopped playing well at dog parks as a result. We don't take him to dog parks anymore either. When no toys are around, he tends to be really good with other dogs and kids especially, but I would worry about him hurting another dog because of his size.
