Husbands helping with diaper change and feeding

It's not 'helping.' He's a parent.

So happy someone noted this. This is the same way it irritates me when I hear of a Dad "babysitting" his own kids.

Of course it's still helping! Since when is it only helping if a person other than a parent does it? I help him all the time, too. I helped this morning by being the one to get up with my daughter in the middle of the night.

Agreed. I do most of the childcare in my house, but my husband cooks all the meals and does the laundry. It's just how we've divided the housework, etc., since we both work full time, with odd schedules. If he's running late, I'll help by starting dinner. If I'm too tired to get out of bed, he helps by doing an early morning diaper change. We don't have a precise 50/50 division of duties as far as the kids are concerned, but we still have a loving, respectful, and helpful family. Our kids are loved and well cared for. This is what works for us. I understand it might not work for everyone.

Yeah I don't think this is quite the kind of help that elicited the annoyance with the term...lol! It's more like situations when the woman - by virtue of being a woman - does close to 100% of the household and childcare duties and it's considered "helping" for the husband to do...anything. And sadly I have in fact seen this.
