Oh come on. None of these posters is homophobic. They are irked that republicans have to stay in the closet and vote anti-gay. It's the hypocrisy and the lies.

+1 if he came out of the closet and denounced some of the anti-gay conservative agenda I'd have a whole lot more respect for him.

What is the anti-gay conservative agenda?

Have you been living under a rock? How about the "Defense of Marriage Act?" "Don't Ask / Don't Tell?" The anti-gay Arizona legislation? Et cetera, et cetera. Conservatives have been fighting tooth and nail to deny gay couples the same rights that others would have, they have been fighting laws that would protect gays from hate crimes, it has been a constant drumbeat among social conservatives.

And if he takes positions that seemingly go against the gay agenda - remember, he was elected to represent the views of his state - not his personal views.

I learned this the hard way when I worked up on the Hill.

Has he actually done extensive polling on the subject with a fair and broad cross section of his constituents? I doubt it. Has he never heard from gay members of his constituency who have expressed the unfairness of how gay relationships are treated under the law? I bet he has - but has ignored it and gone against their will.

I don't think a lot of conservative politicians actually listen to their constituents. Instead, they listen to the NRA, the Koch brothers, et cetera.
