| Sherwood Forest is great. It is typically over-run with young kids in the summer, so if you don't have kids -- it may not be your ideal community. The house that the PP posted will be one of the most expensive houses in the area. Most of the houses are really small summer cottages that run in the $1M range. There are a handful of larger homes on the island with waterfront. One big plus is the proximity to restaurants and shopping on Annapolis. Sherwood Forest and Gibson Island are both kind of unique. They each have their pros and cons -- both are very well liked by owners and guests! Sherwood Forest is a little more low key, and Gibson Island has a lot more amenities, land, waterfront and green space that is shared by the owners. The summer camps at Sherwood Forest are legendary. |

I have family who live in moco during the week and lusby on the weekends. It's a great town and fairly affordable. If you do look at lusby, two neighborhoods to consider are Chesapeake ranch estates (cheaper, more full time residents, but several community beaches, lakes, stables, etc) or cove point beach (lovely private community beach, more weekend residents, some flooding risk in certain areas).
One thing to watch is the development planned at the local natural gas facility. If approved, it could have a big impact on the community. |
OP here, thank you for this response. I will definitely check out these two neighborhoods. |
