+1
While I do enjoy The Americans (and their stellar wig collection), I think True Detective and the very underappreciated Hannibal are better.

I like Hannibal, too. But I canNOT watch it if I'm alone at night. Soooo creepy. The actor who plays Hannibal is amazing.

He is amazing as Dr Lechter. Watch out Anthony Hopkins. And, I did not realize that Dancy fellow could actually act until I saw him playing the Will character.

I saw this post when it came out, and have been trying to catch up just so I could look at this post.

I really like the show! I agree with PP there has been some unnecessary sex-stuff (Keri Russell with bacon episode) and I'm sure someone needs to jumble their wigs sooner or later in some scene--I mean, how can Martha be married to "Clark" and never have touched his head? Like put her hand on the back of his head when watching TV or something?

The other thing that just drives me nuts is that every shot of Keri Russell is some weird pose, with hair going down the opposite side of the camera angle. She's always posing for the camera. She's gorgeous; doesn't need to pose, and I suspect it's due to her past history in "Felicity" where the show tanked after she cut her hair. So now her hair is being constantly showcased, and looks like she has a fake second tier attached on to make it really long.

But really, between the super-long hair and the hair-posing, it's hard to suspend disbelief. So she's going to go have a knock-down drag out fight with her hair NOT at least in a ponytail? Or wear a super-short hair wig--where is this massive mane of hair to hide? And her daughter looks to weigh more than she does--she is totally unconvincing as someone who could pound down a 300 lb. trained thug.

But I like her anyways…and love the show. Sad to hear if she has broken up her marriage to date her co-star; I think the biggest curse would be to be a Hollywood actor's kid.

I have a few episodes on my DVR backed up and I can't get myself to watch it now that Game of Thrones and Fargo are on... I can't get into it anymore.

I love this show too!

All the actors do a really great job and the story lines stay interesting.

I do find the FBI neighbor guy's facial tics to be really annoying though.

I don't like that they don't get any of the location stuff right. Nothing resembles the DC area other then some stock shots of downtown....

I love the show, and both of them, and had no idea they were dating! I think that's amazing!

I lOVE it too. Maybe others can chime in but I am from the former Soviet Union and I think their portrayal of Russian characters, their Russian, and the overall "look" of the Russian actors is better than other shows I have seen. I think it is pretty dead on.

I watched a marathon on amazon and prefer watching it commercial less on amazon. Another good show in season 2 is Vikings on the history channel. FYI the character Rollo was based on the Rollo that went to what is now France-Normans [northmen] and eventually the Normans that conquered the Saxons.

It's set in Brooklyn, NY. There's some goofiness with the plots, but the characters are really intriguing. Keri and Matthew do such a good job.

love this show but the Blood Eagle episode was so difficult to watch-the end that is. Started watching it bc my 11 year old wanted to see it-to preview it and got hooked.

Wait, how can that be? They always show the "Falls Church" sign where they and the FBI neighbors live.

btw, so according to DCUM, they get the DC stuff wrong but the Soviet stuff right! ha ha

Russian PP, I'm glad you chimed in about the Soviet scenes being fairly realistic. I love the Russian subtitled scenes!

It's obviously shot in NYC, but it's set in DC/NoVa. They just don't do a very good job of making anything look remotely like DC.

Apparently, they write the English subtitles, and have a Russian translator translate them into correct Russian idiom. So it's not a literal translation.

I love Nina- she's the best character on the show. Plus, I forgot how good Kerry Russell can be! She's still gorgeous.

PP, I'm curious, do you decide to let your 11 y.o. watch it? I keep thinking it would be so fun if my 11 y.o. watched it, but for me, the sex, and murder scenes are too explicit.
