any recs for Pho in MoCo?

There is a Pho 75 in Rockville. Pho 75 has been among the best pho in DC since before there was pho in DC, and it has more-or-less stood the test of time (but it no longer costs 4.75 for a large bowl, which I believe was the inspiration for the name).

2) I want to be able to make it
3) Anybody on here know how to *easily* make it? And where to get the ingredients? (I'd love to do an organic version) Can be chicken or beef…

Thank you!

This may have already been said, but smitten kitchen just did a chicken pho a couple of weeks ago. I did some short cuts (cooked chicken breasts separately, crockpotted the broth). Turned out great!

There is no good Pho near Bethesda. I would recommend any of the Pho 75s (one in Rockville, Arlington, and Falls Church). They are the gold standard. I think Pho Xe Lua is so so and has too much MSG.

I think pretty much the #1 criteria in making good broth is how much msg you can get into it. . .

You can replace MSG with sugar. It's not quite as good, but not as bad for you.

MSG has no negative health effects, unless you are one of the vanishingly small number of people who have an actual allergy.

What is your "gold standard" in Arlington and Falls Church?
