Has anyone gotten a call from PC Speedy Tech support?

Anonymous
I am visiting my in-laws and someone called stating they are from PC Speedy and they want to help me remove some files on my computer to fix some errors in Windows. I asked how he could possibly know which computer has the issue and he stated that Windows has these errors generally. I started to ask him, "so what your saying is you are going to personally call every owner of a windows pc and help them fix this problem?". What is what he was implying. What bull!

I explained that we don't use Windows on our Mac. I asked him what exactly his company does, because he hadn't explained anything but the name, and he yelled at me repeatedly "I TOLD you." Then ordered me again to go to my computer. I asked him three times to remove our number from his call list and he kept haranguing me, so finally I hung up.

Very obnoxious. Don't these companies hire an American to vet their scripts and coach the callers on how to not yell at or berate the people they call?!!

This is a scam, not a legitimate company at all. What they want you to do is to download something that will let them use your computer as a bot.

I just got a call from Todd from PC speedy. This guy called me on Sat and I said I was busy so he said I will call back on Monday evening. sat he called from a 735 area code today he called from a 212 area code. So when Todd starting talking I said to him I take it you moved since Sat and it looks like you are in New York. He got upset with me when I told him how stupid it sounds that a huge software co like Microsoft would hie all different companies to call very person in the nation that is using the Microsoft operating system. I also said I want to know how you know my telephone number and if I have a computer. He said we have a huge database to which I commented-I bet you stole that also. I told him to never call again he is a scammer.

Someone else may call anyway. Since they're already engaged in fraud, there's no reason for them to keep track of who has asked not to be called. I just hang up.

Anyone knows what can we do to report these kind of people. I wish they can catch him so nobody will be suffered from their lie!!! Anyone knows how please report them!!! I got their phone number 1-855-264-9273 and the person who called me using this (776) 060-2553.

I hope the microsoft can catch them all to face justice!!

I get the same calls all the time. I make it a point to play along with the caller for a while until he/she asks me to go to some website. Last time, after giving the caller the run around for a while, I told her I knew this was a scam and not to call again. Do you know what she said? There was a surcharge for her to put me in their do not call list! Hahaha. I had to laugh at her. They do not deviate from their plans. All they want is your money!

This happened to me too. I got a call from "Bill" from San Diego, telling me my PC was sending out error messages on the global servers. Being semi tech savy I knew this was BS as computers don't send out SOS messages to Indian people trying to steal my credit card. Anyway, I had some fun with him. I said I had an Apple computer and not a Windows PC. He hung up. Next day got another call from a new company telling me the exact same thing. So I listened and played along before yelling, "F#@$ you!" and hanging up. I got about 4 rapid fire calls in which I just picked up and hung up. The fifth one I actually listened and the Indian said, "Hello mother f#@$er," and I hung up. That was the last call I got from them. XD

I just got a call from PC speedy (9/23/12). I've been having some serious internet errors, pop ups and such. They explained that they were going to help me. First they had me go to the event viewer to see all the information and errors that my PC was getting. Then, they wanted me to go to join.me so they could access my PC and remove the errors. That's when I barked. I asked them again for the third time, who are u again, do u work for Microsoft, is there a cost for this, how did u get my number, how do u know I'm having problems? None of their answers were satisfactory to me. So I told the guy that I needed to research their company more and I would call them back. And then, he became abbrasive. He wanted to know why I needed to research, because he was going to take care of my problems. So I just hung up and called my daughter for advice. And of course, she read me the riot act for talking to them in the first place.

I received a call also from a James Wilson (caller ID showed 359-014-2524) but he offered a 855-number. I pressed him as to why he would want to enlighten just me about a Windows operating problem. He said that he was calling people globally. His first instruction is to NOT go online, but to turn on your computer. When I started reading him all the things about what people say about his scam and his company online, he hung up.

Talked to "Jack" today. Let him go on with his spiel for a while. Told him I didn't think what he wanted me to do was a good idea. He asked why. I told him because no one asked you to call and I know you're up to something. He told me I was a "bull sh*t" person. I said, "excuse me I can't understand you". He said "You are a very bad person". I said "If I'm such a bad person maybe you better not talk to me". He hung up then. Maybe they will call back again.

I get calls that they are calling because of a Windows error message. It never deters them when I tell them we don't have a Windows machine in our house. "Yes you do. We are getting the error message from this address." Um, no 1 desktop and 2 laptops - all Macs.
