I pay $265/week for licensed in-home care in Arlington. My provider has been licensed for 9 years and has an excellent record. Center-based care for infants in my area goes for $250-375 a month. The center in my downtown DC work building runs at $1700-1800.
Honestly, I'm a little worried about you getting quoted for $2k/month in NoVA. You might want to do a search on this forum of "PatsKids" and see if who you found matches her description. |
Who does infant care for $250/month? No one. |
Mine does, in Hyattsville/NE DC |
| $1750 for a federal bright horizons center downtown |
| In-home in Alexandria - $250/week, though she now charges new parents $275/week |
$250 in the beltway? Blue Bird II in Alexandria, Little Seasons in Georgetown was when they had their new clients/opening special, don't know about their current rates, and plenty of in-homes. Hope you're well. |
Oh oh, sorry! I just saw my typo, I meant to say $250-375/week obviously. I was comparing that to the $265/week I pay. The $1700-1800 was monthly obviously. |
So you pay about one dollar an hour for your infant care??? |
| I was just recently quoted $2068 in Arlington and $1695 in FC City both for centers. |
That's a great point. I worked at a big chain center in a federal building downtown. There was a huge turnover rate with employees because the pay was just too low to meet the demands of parents and the expectations of the center. It just wasn't worth it. And these were employees who really loved the children and their families. |
| We pay $2K+ per month for a daycare facility in downtown Bethesda. |
