I like my DS better when he's not medicated - what does that mean?

Get a second opinion. If you are wrong, it is just status quo. If your gut is right, then you owe it to your kid to find out if he is either A) misdiagnosed or B) correctly diagnosed but can do it without meds.

Yes, yes, yes. He needs periodic reevaluation anyway, and 4 years is a long time for a 10 year old to be on meds. Have you tried therapy for behavior modification?
