Have $30k to aggressively invest. Ideas?

We've made oodles of money over they years on Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft back in the day, and a few others. We were lucky (because we haven't made a bad guess). But we consider this investment money almost fun money--money we can afford to lose. For most everything else outside of retirement/education funds and basically cash (that we keep for quarterly taxes and bills), we put all our $$ into the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Admiral Shares.

Making money on MSFT must have been a VERY long time ago! (?)

That investment opportunity (with reasonable risk) doesn't exist considering how much you have now. Sorry,

For the Vanguard fund - do you keep it long term or sell after a few months and invest in another fund?

Keep it. It provides exposure to the entire U.S. equity market, so there's no need to jump around
