| I think it was a product of its time. I tried several times to watch it and just couldn't finish it, but would imagine that a contemporary of the movie would have watched it with completely different impressions. In some way like 'friends' I watched and re-watched every episode, now when I see some repeated episodes it just no longer speaks to me. I have moved on, am at a different stage of my life, and the world has moved on as well from those first seasons - imagine how it would look like to audiences 50 years from now. |
Casablanca is one of my very favorites, and I love Notorious so much. And anyone who hasn't seen the 1939 version of The Women really needs to watch it. I can appreciate the style of Breakfast at Tiffany's, but it's not a movie I especially enjoyed or have any desire to see again. |

Roman Holiday slays me. "Rome. By all means Rome." I cry every single time. To answer the OP: NYC in the early 60's Truman Capote The risque story The fashion Audrey's face Moon River |

| Casablanca being overrated is one of the craziest things I've read here. BaT, yes/maybe, Casablanca, hell no. |
| The book is way better than the movie. The movie is cute and all, but AH's legacy has been ruined by twee hipsterism worship. |

| Golightly is the name of the stuff you do for bowel prep before a surgery (ie complete evacuation). Hardly a shining tribute to BaT. |
You're a twit. |
| "I believe you are in league with the butcher" is one of the most charming filmdom lines. |
