You're the Head Coach - Pick between Tom Brady or RGIII

Ok, I change my mind - it's Brady, w/o a doubt. RGIII's finished.

No brainer does not mean, "act as if you have no brain."

Tom Brady is a first ballot Hall of Famer, on the short list of greatest quarterbacks of all time. He is unquestionably in the top 10, and you can make a strong case that he is in the top 5. He is a 2-time MVP (and could have had another 2), a 3-time Super Bowl champ, and a 2-time Super Bowl MVP. He has two of the top 10 best seasons ever (by QBR), and in 2007 had the greatest season by a QB - ever.

RGIII has been in the league one year. One. He had a very good year. But he is in the very beginning of his career, has never won a playoff game, and has a lot to learn as a passer. To compare him to one of the all-time greats is just preposterous. He may turn out to be very good; he may turn out to be great; he may even turn out to be better than Brady.

And before anyone accuses me of being some Patriots homer, I am a current season-ticket holder of the New York Jets, I have a picture of the Mookie Wilson-Bill Buckner play up on my office wall, and I generally find Boston sports fans (and teams) among the most irritating on the planet. There's probably about 72 people on the planet who hate the Patriots more than I do, and I'm related to 5 of them. But neither am I an idiot (although some would argue that being a Jets season ticket holder calls that into question - but that's another conversation). If you are the head coach of a football team, and can have Tom Brady in his prime, there's really nothing more to discuss, unless the other names being thrown around are Montana, Unitas, Elway, Manning, Favre, or Marino. Redskins fans really are hilarious.

I can't decide if it's homerism, rose-colored glasses, or outright insanity, but it really is funny.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

I hate you... because even now... it still hurts...

Greatest sports day of my life. And if you're a Boston sports fan, you've got nothing to bitch about after the last decade or so.

Are you kidding me with this? RGIII over Brady in his prime? The only way this is the correct choice is if you love losing -- a natural feeling if you're a Redskins fan.

+1. A billion times over.

The only thing more amazing than that this question is being asked is that people are seriously picking RGIII. Like the Jets fan above, I hate the Patriots and there really is not much about Brady I don't have a problem with. But (as much as I hate to say it), I can't criticize his skills as a QB and agree he is likely in the top 10 all time. RGIII on the other hand is a novelty. He worked for part of one year, but teams have figured him out and, more importantly, his style of playing led him to get hurt badly. RGIII has not shown much ability to adapt his style of play in way that will give him longevity or to learn to efficiently go through the reads (which he didn't learn to/have to do at Baylor because that wasn't the style he played). Whether he can develop that ability and the pro level and, in the meantime, stay relatively injury free is very much in doubt. RGIII's college style offense will get him hurt badly in the NFL. RGIII is not Russell Wilson - RW runs to buy time to find a passing target (much in the way Big Ben scrambles to buy time) while RGIII just runs and that is what may end his career early.

Also RGIII is a prima donna, but so is Brady.

but one prima donna wins, take a guess which one wins?

I would pick Tom Brady. He is a proven commodity. He didn't always have it so easy. If anyone bothered to read Sports Illustrated, they would learn that Brady's college coach thought he was only good enough to be a back up quarterback and wasn't nice to him at all. Tom had to tough it out and keep fighting to get the starting spot. I'm not a Patriots fan whatsoever, but Tom Brady is one of the best QBs of all time.

RGIII? Used to love him. Now, I think he's let some of the saviour talk get to his head. DC + Snyder have a way of ruining every single talented player they can get their hands on. And RGIII sounds like a big baby/whiner. No one should have let him keep playing after he was injured. He will never be good again.

Brady all the way.

Reason: My job would be based on winning football games.

RG3 will be a 30/30 special in 10 years. Done. The redskin are The Bernuda triangle for quarters.
