well paying jobs

This thread is rubbing me the wrong way. Is OP complaining about how hard DH works for the money, or that other people seemingly put in less effort but take home more?

The thing is, worth is not defined by how hard you work, but by what you get done.

Nope, he went through ed training and decided he doesn't want to teach. He actually did everything except student teach and take the teaching tests and then decided it wasn't for him. Ideally wants to just be in a symphony (has performance degree) but not enough time to practice to win a job.
mistake
Maybe he can get back into that

Stop whining and get out there and make some money. Plenty of people have it to spend. Make yourself useful to them.

What did you do for 20 minutes to get $200?

what? sucking d*ck ofcourse

There are also plenty of blue collar type jobs that pay well. See:http://classroom.wsj.com/cre/2013/04/22/the-10-best-paying-jobs/

When I toured daycares back in the day, I saw several kids who were handicapped being taken care of in a nice environment with other kids to play with, etc...

Granted they were infants not toddlers so if your kids are at the age where you are schlepping them to therapies disregard my earlier comment.

One other thought -- are you angry at your spouse for not being able to provide like you thought when you got married? Maybe couples therapy would be in order to help you work through the frustration of kids, work, and your relationship.

It obviously depends on the SN. I have a kid with autism and know several other kids on the spectrum. Not a single family we know found a successful daycare placement. Having a SN kid is hard in many ways, not least financial. Almost all of the moms I know are working less than they want to because they can't find appropriate care. Comments like this, as if these problems aren't real, don't make anything better.

They call it "work", not "happy happy fun time" for a reason. It is rare to find someone well paid who would not choose something else if money were no option. Chances are the more fun something is, the more people are willing to do it, so the less you have to pay someone. More competitive schools, tougher majors, advanced degrees - each lead to financial rewards at the cost of doing something easier/more enjoyable. Please don't confuse quantity (hours or trying) with quality.

You and your husband both have earning power, just because something is not "for you" or the "dream job" doesn't mean you can't do it, but rather you don't want to. At the point you make the decision, there is no one else to blame.

Part of being a grown up means making difficult decisions and putting the needs of the family above personal wants and desires. Lots of good advice above. Take it and act on it, for the sake of your child.

He's worked odd office jobs and at age 32 works his tail off doing webinars for a software company making under 50k with no benefits. He works HARD, usually not even taking a lunch break, works when he wakes up, into evening hours, on weekends, etc. I'm a teacher, so not huge income for me either, but we now have a baby with special needs that cannot go to daycare so now I'm staying home.
It makes me sick (and jealous!) to see the HHIs well over 100k and feel so frustrated that DH works so hard for so little. He's applied before to fed jobs, but doesn't have the skill set they're usually looking for. Help! What job can he look for that will take him entry level for a more liveable salary for this area?

Well, don't feel bad and every family has difficulty especially now aday. Since we have the baby in 2012, my wife was not working for two years, she was making in the low 30s and I was making in the high 50s. Now, because of the baby, I took a 15k pay cut to come to Montgomery County just expecting a better school system and better enviroment for her.

Housing cost about 35% more than where I came from plus the 15k pay cut, I totally feel your pain.

Good luck!

That is why most people will remain broke and miserable. Firstly, you don't read very well. Secondly, all you think about is filth. Keep on spinning on that wheel like the hamster you are.

I thought of a service that certain businesses would need. I emailed 10. 3 got back to me. One purchased. I charged $400. I kept $200 profit. Since I wrote about it on here, I have made 3,000...sitting on my butt, at the computer, no phone calls needed. If I didn't have a business to run, I could have made much more.

So good luck with your life, loser.

A little longer than 20 min, but 150 for sitting on ones rear for a status meeting. 2 hrs...

You must have mistaken me for that 100k dog walker who posted his tax return on here. No offensive to him, but I have nothing to prove to you because frankly I look down on most of you. You are boring, inefficient, perverted, and way too concerned about what others think.

I posted because there is at least one smart person who will take my idea and run with it. Good, you should. Make that money and leave the losers like pp behind.

Not involved in this, but I am pretty sure OP did not just write a few random emails, but rather, proffered her ideas in the emails, and she was being compensated for the brain work, not the emails. Either that, or she is a Nigerian scammer.
