Actually, yes - some schools have large classes with multiple teachers, hence low ratios but not small group learning environment. For some kids, 2 teachers in a room with 20 kids is substantially different than 1 teacher and 10 kids, if your kid is one who gets distracted or intimidated in crowds. |

Thats simply not true. Many of these privates have 20 kids in a class. While they have break out groups, that also do things as a class. Its just not the same thing as having a classroom with 10 or 12 kids (which my DS has had at McLean). |
