Spouse and I spend $180 / month in smart phones. Cheaper alternative?

We pay about $140/month for a family plan with Verizon, one iphone and one droid. Unlimited talk and text, and 2 gigs of data. I surf the web on my phone all the time and we've never gone over about 1 gig.

That does include a $10 employee discount, so really it would be $150 - does your employer have any discounts available?

I would just ask Verizon about other plans. Ours is the share everything plan.

Cosumer Cellular - rated by consumer reports as very good buy, outstanding customer service - no contracts with several talk, data and/or text options....also sell smart phone (Samsung Galaxy 3- not the latest model) very consumer/client driven and budget friendly...

We pay between $150-160, can't remember the exact number. This is for two Iphones, we were grandfathered into the unlimited data and the free rollover minutes plan. Can't remember the amount of texts we can have, I text a few times a day and haven't gone over.
