| UCSB could be a great place to go to school. Very good faculty. Great climate. And it's located on the beach. |
| What's with the DMV? Wy not DCA or IAD In the same way that Atlanta is ATL or Albuquerque ABQ? |
What? |
None of the UC's are actively seeking students from this area, but students from this area are increasingly interested in schools in great climates. SantaBarbara is among the best. |
However, all of the UCs are actively seeking full pay out-of-state students. |

WAS? DMV is annoying. |
| OMG. Just googled "Sushi 12" and am LMFAO. |
As a non Jewish family, I don't know what to think/feel/say, if anything, after reading this. DD has at least 5 of these schools on her list. |
This is a bit of a myth. They don't have room. |
I read some local press re grumblings in San Diego about the big influx of OOS students accepted to UCSD (and Santa Barbara), as high as one third OOS putting these UC schools closer to U Michigan, U Virginia and U Wisconsin in terms of out staters. |
Too funny! So spot on and so annoying. Ah youth! |
| I'd bet that there is a correlation between schools reaching out to get students from the DMV and a rise in ranking. Vanderbilt, Duke and Wake Forrest all come to mind as schools that saw their rankings go up after bringing in more students from this area. |
