I would talk to your OB first about what specifically you should do to increase your chances.

many may disagree with this-- but sadly i have found that docs dont know about foods adn alternative measures. They know about meds. Ive asked many times if there is anything else i can do to increase chances.

Why would you talk to your OB about anything related to IF? Talk to an RE.

We do have several close friends that had as I stated - surprise pregnancies despite documented infertility. They were trying so hard and putting so much pressure on themselves I do think it had a negative impact, not just their fertility, but also on their relationship which impacts trying to get pregnant. When they least expected it they ended up pregnant. One very close friend was told she would NEVER be able to conceive. She ended up pregnant after starting adoption and then had a second "miracle" baby. The doctors were wrong. I am not discounting those that suffer from other forms of infertility, but if you have started on this journey, don't give up. Infertility is often unexplained along with a lot of other pieces of the medical puzzle. Another friend had her first using treatments and then had 2 surprise babies. I believe in her case lifestyle (diet etc.) and stress were definitely hurting their chances, they agree.

So were you finally able to get pregnant? Using ART?

If there is any chance -at all- that you are underweight, gain some weight.

on our own we supplemented with:
- prenatal vitamins
- fish oil (nordic naturals ultimate omega - 4g/day for NK cells)
- vitamin C - 1000mg (ascorbic acid)
- vitamin D - 1000 IU
- vitamin E - 400 IU
- vitamin B12 - 1000mcg
- women's iron support - 800mcg folate (switch to folic acid in luteal phase 800mcg)
- CoQ10 - 30mg
- grape seed extract - 100mg
- baby aspirin - 81mg
- ginger - can't remember details
- bromelain (500mg) for 1 week after ET
- DH took Proceptin and multivitamin 3 months before cycle (ideally)
- anti-inflammatory diet to help with endometriosis & elevated natural killer cells (avoid red meat, wheat, dairy, trans/satuated fats, yogurt, refined carbs, yolks, caffeine, chocolate); leaving hormone-free chicken, salmon, berries, walnuts, olives, veggies, lentils, herbal teas, water (organic where possible)

through the help of our RE:
- co-culture - help uterine env (similar to endometrial biopsy - look up research for this) plus beneficial to embryo
- acupuncture before & after ET (german study)
- steroids & antibiotics (to reduce inflammation/immune response and infection)
- progesterone/estrodial support during 2WW (for medicated cycles)
- thyroid meds (be sure your TSH is down near 1-2)
- DH took antibiotics before cycle too

The biggest change we made:
- get a second opinion sooner than later

I wouldn't assume that. A lot of people waste time doing fertility work-ups with their OBs when they should be talking to an RE instead.
