| Isn't finance a tough.market to get into these days? |
My most humble and abject apologies. Thanks for policing everyone. Was there an inordinate amount of ammonia in your cereal this morning? |
This was very useful to the conversation. Must be a slow day at your Government post..... |

I really don't think you are thinking this through that well.
That's why I came on here asking for advice. Possibly, you may be correct! |
It happens to the best of us...... especially ones that use our phones! LMAO! |

I think a career counselor is your best bet OP. They can look at your experience, strengths, weaknesses, interests etc and help you far more than people on here. Then perhaps if you get some suggestions on what careers would be good, you can come back on here and ask for experience in those particularly.

Sales of technical equipment that is more specialized for larger building owners. Mostly Commercial and Industrial grade equipment that is used is every building that is not residential. I also sell a smidge of residential, probably less than 5% of my sales. |
Did you like sales? (Not the industry, but the activity) Were you good at it? If you are good at sales, you have a wide variety of options at your fingertips. |
I have given this tremendous consideration. I do exceptionally well with crunching numbers. I need to look further into this arena! |

a tech job is a no go if you have no degree and no background.
In the DC area, the majority of higher paying tech jobs are with govt contractors. They want a minimum bachelors, plus certs, plus experience. Also, OP, speaking in silly, juvenile cliches such as "haters gonna hate" doesn't bode well for anyone who is hoping to get a professional job. |

If you are good at sales, you have a wide variety of options at your fingertips. I have always accelerated in sales. I have been the top producer of every company that I have worked for in the industry. The problem is, that within the industry that I'm in, the company always keeps about 90% of the profits and I get the other 10% for my hard work. They get rich and I stay poor! From this point of view I have grown to hate sales. To me, it represents the greed that this industry has spawned over time. I think that's the reason I wish to do something totally unrelated. |
OP Here, YOU have replied with the smartest answer yet! Although, maybe I made my posting so long that people overlooked that I wrote; "I'm looking for advice from people that are happy with their current or past careers. I would like to know your career and the salary range to expect. Even though you are happy with your career selection, there are always negatives with every job. Please indicate any negatives you have experience too. Please be honest. I'm trying to re-invent myself, as I'll probably be in the workforce until I drop dead, so I am attempting to avoid any pitfalls there may be while searching for a job that's perfect for me!" |
| Pp that you quoted. I think people read that (i did) but found it more useful to give you ideas based on your interests. |
