First Pregnancy: OB says going upto 42 weeks is ok!

I was induced at 41 weeks after a sonogram showed low amniotic fluid levels. I had a normal, healthy 7 pounder, non C section. It is very normal to go past 40 weeks especially with your first baby. If you get to 39 weeks, ask your doctor about getting a sonogram done and/or a non-stress test. That should reassure you and let them know if they need to be thinking about an earlier induction.
