"Paleo" is an idiotic idea (which time? Where? I don't think my Scandanavian ancestors were eating much coconut, which seems to be the basis of some Paleo diets. See also http://www.amazon.com/Paleofantasy-Evolution-Really-Tells-ebook/dp/B007Q6XM1A), but the excess protein causing kidney damage in anyone other than people with pre-existing kidney damage has been pretty thoroughly debunked. OP, my CSA last year didn't have many starchy veggies, at least not until late summer. Then there were potatoes, but not much sweet corn. Waaaay too much summer squash, though. It was the bane of my existence from my parents' garden and it bugged me even more to have paid for the privilege of it. |

For the anti-paleo people: do you truly believe that your health requires regular consumption of wheat, rice, refined sugar, and startchy roots?
Are you equally opposed to low carb diets or just the so-called "p" ones? |
| OP update here: first week with our share and we got three different kinds of lettuce, three other leafy greens and a few non-starch veggies = very pleased. We're using way more veggies than we did before because we don't want any to go to waste. The fresh herbs and eggs are really nice too. Thanks for the tips! |
