I am curious if the daycare has gotten any better, given the nice new playground. I know one poster from this threat said that previously the daycare was "a joke." Would love any feedback on this as we consider where to apply into the upcoming lottery. Thank you!

I think the previous poster that you are referencing was talking about the aftercare, not daycare. My DC has only gone to aftercare once. All of the children are kept together. They were all out on the playground when I arrived. The bigger children naturally gravitated to the upper playground area which houses the basketball court.

Yes, I meant aftercare, not daycare--thank you! Would love more feedback on the program. My child would need daily aftercare.

I called it a joke months ago. We're no longer enrolled, unfortunately, but the playground was up this Spring and DD wanted to go to aftercare from then on. The young kids REALLY like the playground. I would probably have considered aftercare this year if we were still enrolled.

I'm hoping there's space when we return to DC for 1st grade.

After a rough first week of adjusting to aftercare, my daughter now has a great time. She loves her preschool teachers, but I think the mixed-ages playtime (like 5 and 6 year olds playing with the 3 year olds) on the playground is her favorite part of the day. And I was thrilled to see that even on the rainy days last week when they had to stay inside, she seemed happy.
