My son is 5.

He has a kura bed from ikea.

Expedient shelves from ikea make Good room dividers and storage.

He will learn to sleep through your movinb about and the tv.

Go tall. I used to go for small shelves and things that let my son be self suffcient. Thats great for independance but not great for space.

Purge like crazy.
I think it's possible as well I live in a tiny studio flat in the uk we are fine X

This is a five year old post. This woman’s son is now ten and I’m sure she has moved on both literally and logistically.

I have three studio condos in Arlington and all have the large closet. I have removed shelves and rods from two of closets so that single moms could put beds in for children. The firs ooen yo bathroom and living space. They told me they leave door open to bathroom after child goes to sleep and close door to living space.

They have fold out sofas for themselves and lined walls with IKEA storage armoires and closets. There are big windows and sliding doors to balcony, so it works on about 570 sq ft

Good luck in finding something similar -- and a new job!
