She'd do STEM at UMBC, computer science.


Unless she really wants to do CS I'd strongly discourage her from pursuing a CS degree. It's not really a field for people who don't have a passion in it.

I live 5 min from UMBC and my kids have been taking swimming lessons there for years. It's a veritable ghost town on weekends - nothing's open - even the gym is only open a few hours on the weekends. No place to eat, get coffee, hang out. it may have decent academics, but there's no college experience to be had. And Catonsville (where I live) is hardly a college town. Go to St Mary's.

St Mary's if she wants to get an education rather than professional training she would be getting at UMBC. And, as others said before, no "college experience" to speak of since it's a commuter campus.
