me too. |
| Family of 5, 3 teenagers. We go to the store almost every day, even after buying $300 worth of food. One time I calculated our debits at Giant, Whole Foods, Fresh Mkt, Harris Teeter. Yes, the bills included non-food items. But the total was $2,100.00 |
| Forgot to add, for 1 month |
| 200-250 /week for family of 3. Plus family dinner out once a week, plus lunches and coffee/snacks at work. |
|
$175 a week, for groceries only for 1 week. Family of 5
Plus an additional $60 for soap powder and toiletries, paper plates Also we eat out after church so that's another $100-$120 gone |
|
I probably spend around $120/week at Costco (so that would include some non food items like toilet paper, dish detergent, random clothes or household items)
and another $80/week at Wegmans (exclusively food). And then we end up making a random trip or two to other stores--maybe $15/week We almost never get coffee at Starbucks (maybe once a year or so!) and spend about $100 on date night once a month, so $25/week Maybe another $100 on other take out/family meal out per month so about $25/week So...I guess that averages out to approx. $225-$250 per week (I deducted a small amount from the actual total, since not everything from Costco is food... We have 6 in our family...so I guess that's approx. $40/week...x 4 (apprx. weeks in month) $160 pp/week |
ack...that should say $160 pp/month |
How to not eat out that often? Just don't go. It's a conscious effort to get in your car and drive to the restaurant (or walk, or bike, or take public transportation), to open the door, to sit at the restaurants table and open the menu, etc. When you can't afford something, you just don't do it. |
Yeah we are broke so... If we're lazy that means opening a can of soup or something. |
