2. WIS, great school if your child and your family are a good fit.
3. NPS. Nurturing but on a different level from B and WIS.

What do you mean by "if your child and your family are a good fit"?

Why do you think that you would have to put DC in the Spanish program, especially if you are Fluent in French ? Why not the French program?

NP - For their child to be trilingual - its like saying we speak English so lets go to the English immersion program...

To 00:25: because neither of us has had much use for our French, except to speak to one another when we don't want the kids to understand. We both could have made extensive use of Spanish in our daily lives and wish we had studied that instead.

Please explain. Academically, this is not true. Perhaps you mean social-status of the parents?

I would say that B and NPS are more similar (academically and socially) and WIS is on a different level (not inferior, but different- pulls from a different crowd). It seems somewhat unusual that people who apply to WIS apply to B and/or NPS, however, it's quite common to see people apply to both B & NPS.

Agreed.

NPS is like Beauvoir's cousin, once removed.

WIS is like Beauvoir's bastard child conceived when working for the Peace Corps in the Congo.

WIS is the future. They raise children to be global citizens. there is something simply wonderful about being able to read, write and speak in Spanish or French and English. These kids are ready to take on the world. In addition, their brains are "on fire" whille learning a new language. All different aspects of their brains are being used. The English, math and science is also first rate. And they are in the IB program in primary school. It's an incredible place.. A hidden treasure for really smart people, that fortunately or unfortunately, isn't so hidden anymore.
