My debit card number has been stolen twice, and I never had any issues with my bank. It was pretty easy to tell which charges were fraudulent, and I didn't have to pay anything.

Okay also OP, it's bad for your credit to open new credit lines, but it's good for your credit to have a high credit to debt ratio (i.e. the more credit you have, the better). So...I have kept all my old credit lines open (3) but only use 1 actively.

FICO (credit score) is the how much debt you have score.
