| been packing breakfast and lunch since 1988, savings thousands of dollars. I do eat out occasionally with coworkers or when I run out of time. |
| I buy every day. I have found that I don't save THAT much when I pack my lunch, plus it's a nice break in my day. |
| I've gone through phases of packing or buying. I would pack 3-4 lunches/week when I was trying to cut expenses. Lately I've been buying because right now it's more important to me to save time than to save some money. |
| I started doing it for health reasons - I lost a lot of weight when I started bringing in a big salad and an apple instead of buying lunch. The money saved was an added bonus. |
This implies that spending more time with your boss would make him like you more. This is not always true, and based on your post, it probably isn't in your case. You might do better spending your lunchbreak on your own in quiet contemplation of how you can improve your output and stop being such a brown-nosing suck-ass. |
| I work from home so I eat at home. I pack lunch for both kids everyday. So I might as well pack DH lunch. In return for my effort, he gives me $50 a week. It's my play money. |
C'mon. You know there are still many jobs where you just have to come to work, look good, suck up and play office politics. Good thing is that you don't need to be bright or have any real skills beyond social and communication skills. |
Same here. I averaged about $4-5 a day when I pack vs $5-7 a day when I buy. The extra $20-40 a month wasn't worth the effort. |
what industry are you in? Sounds like the proverbial sleep-your-way-to-the-top |
|
I pack fruit, salads, sandwiches or meat. Leftovers like spaghetti or chili are also delicious the next day for lunch.
I didn't pack today and bought 2 bananas and 2 hardboiled eggs at a convenience store for lunch (I'm on ww) for $2.50, can't beat that, and it should be enough to fill me up til dinnertime. |
| I'm always packing. |
| Pack lunch and a snack 4 times a week. Bought a Keurig and stopped my morning DD run for iced coffee. K cups are expensive, but not as expensive as coffee out each day. Saving around $50 a week. |
