At my wit's end with poop eating dog

Anonymous
We were at our wits' ends over this also because the kids' let our puppy lick their FACES. Our dog trainer told us in dangerous cases, such as this, use tabasco sauce on the dog's poop.

It worked like a charm. The puppy was traumatized but, never ate it again. We got to keep the puppy and the kids were at a lower risk of fecal bacteria infection.

Also, we sprinkled hot chili powder flakes on the counter to stop the puppy from licking the kitchen counter. Normal verbal and visual cues didn't work with this one little puppy.

Good luck!

My Pomeranian would eat her own poop every time she had a chance. I started giving the GNC pills called stool NO! from pet smart. It helped a little bit.

Then, I started giving her grounded chicken mixed up in her meal. She NEVER ate poop again. It is a little work but twice a month, I will cook chicken breasts in my crock pot, then I throw them in my processor, separate in meal portions in mini ziploc bags, put them in the freezer and feed my dog with her dog food twice a day.

My dog is small (7 lbs) so each portion is like 2 spoons of grounded chicken. I don't know if she stopped eating poop because now she is well fed (many times, we don't give our dogs the right amount of protein/their dog food sometimes lacks doesn't have enough) or because now, she knows what a good meal tastes like....maybe she just started thinking...fuck this poop! my chicken is coming soon!! yummmm.

ha ha ha!

LOL. Horse Poop is truly irresistible to my little dog. She grabs a piece of the delicacy as big as she can run quickly with! Maybe I should try the chicken trick.

As someone who grew up in the country with dogs that did as they pleased, we had no idea if they were eating poop! Maybe you would better to just turn a blind eye.

Thank you! Totally new problem for us after having a baby (dog is 5)! Didn't know so many people also had this problem with their dogs!

No. I'm being serious. Trust me, there isn't.

The only thing you can do is not give him/her access to poop.
