At what age is it "ok" to let your child play solo in the backyard

My son is 3.5 now. I might let him stay outside in our fenced yard alone for 10-15 minutes. I would not have allowed this when he was 2. I am sure no one would have taken him, but he just didn't have good judgment in terms of jumping off stuff, eating things etc.
