I love that list.

but here is a sampling, in no particular order

"No particular order," but seven of the first eight are Ivies and Stanford. Hee!

I'm not signed up for the MPD auto-reports for that district, so I can't forward. I know the couple who was burgled.

The police report said the kids were from Wilson? Or your friends knew this somehow?

At my wealthy HS where all the kids went to college, we had drug dealers and plenty of kids with too much money who made up their customer base. All schools have their problems. Wilson is a big, diverse city school, and the students go in many directions. The fact that a small subset of kids aren't headed in a good direction doesn't mean my kids can't do well there.

The Wilson grads that I know have gone to Michigan, Berkeley, UNC (2), Yale, and UVA. I don't have a strong sense of their grades/SAT scores, but it seems they all did AP/honors level courses. All caucasian families except the Yale attendee, who is asian.

My children are still in elementary school so I don't know a ton of Wilson grads. However, those that I do know have gone to Yale, Princeton, Temple, Columbia, West Virginia University, Michigan, UVA, a SUNY school and Tulane.

I don't think that UVA lacrosse player who murdered his girlfriend went to Wilson.....

Why, just this week, 4-5 of Wilson's finest were casing alleys in the Albemarle St. NW vicinity and breaking into back windows and stealing electronics. (these are not the individuals headed to Yale, by the way).

But even so, I guarantee that a big handful of my neighbors' kids will matriculate from Wilson this year and go to Ivies. Another dozen will go to SLACs. (these are not the same teens kicking in windows and stealing iPads and loitering in alleys).

Oh I agree ! My tween will probably go there in a few years. I think of it as good training for city life in adulthood.

You have to admit, the wild diversity there is eyebrow raising. I find it pleasantly uncomfortable.
