I think it's silly to draw any conclusions about "liberals" or "conservatives" from DCUM threads. The anonymous and multi-party nature of the board means that even if a political discussion starts off with a reasonable exchange of views it is pretty much guaranteed to deteriorate-- there seems to a version of Gresham's Law that applies to political discussion on the internet.
