Rosemary Hills and Chevy Chase are in the same cluster (one is k-2 and the other is 3-5/6). IMO, they are both good schools, so I think you're unlikely to get more than individual opinion (or gossip) plus some test scores. |

As someone who grew up poor and received extensive test prep through a program I was in I can tell you that you are wrong. All the paid for college trios, summer job opportunities, etc cannot make up for the basic lack of preparation starting from before preschool and the lack of exposure. If I don't know basic things like what a mantel or a credenza or hummus because of basic lack of life exposure all the test prep in the world can reverse that basic lack of knowledge. If you are curious, I went to an exclusive prep school in NYC but grew up in housing projects near where Jay Z grew up. You are debating out of anger and based on a theory that you have tested in your head but while I admire your energy you are wrong. |

But to be on topic, Rosemary Hills (where my kid just finished) and Chevy Chase are both excellent schools. The person who said Rosemary Hills wasn't any good probably said that because the FARMS percentage there is higher than at most other schools in the B-CC cluster. It's also very large. |

Oh sure, we'll get right out there and interview the neighbors ourselves, also the police assigned to this case. Also looking at the map, the house is 3-4 blocks from Churchill at the corner of Victory and Gainsborough, which hardly qualifies as being "across the street" from Churchill. Basically, you've proved that ... St. Andrews kids do drugs? |
You must be so ignorant you can't look at the map straight. The Churchill school property runs several blocks along Victory. You don't live in the neighborhood or you wouldn't be questioning where the school is in relation to the house where the shooting took place or why there was a shooting there to begin with. So don't give a damn about the issue. It's not your concern. |
A kid walking from along Victory Lane from Churchill towards the alleged drug den would have to pass FOUR intersecting streets (Buckhannon, Harker, Greenlane and Bunnnell) AND they'd have to walk past St. Andrews before getting to that alleged drug house. Churchill ends BEFORE the first of these streets (Buckhannon) and Churchill also ends before St. Andrews. Nuts. You're plain nuts. And I hope this proves that you can't just make stuff up ("the drug house is across the street from a well-known MCPS high school) and assume nobody will check. |

Why don't you pay $700,000 for a house on Victory Lane and have your kids go to the neighborhood schools? The tests scores are great and obviously you don't think there is a drug problem. Otherwise, get back on topic. ![]() |
No, I'll just do a Victory Lap. ![]() The important point is this: other DCUM readers won't have to give any credit to your ridiculous argument that "Churchill is full of druggies who only get good scores because their parents can afford test prep" because this has been disproved by me and several other posters. |
Good luck with your "Victory Lap" and good luck with life PP. You seriously have aggression issues that you may want to talk to a therapist about. I'm sure that type of attitude blows over real well in your real life. ![]() |
The quips about multiple personalities and aggression issues are just more ad hominem attacks. They make you look bad. If you can't argue fairly, you need to stop posting. I'm pretty sure you're Crazy Tiger Mom, because references to mental illness are totally her style too. So I'll say "good bye" to you now. |
You went to an exclusive prep school. What did you learn there? You sound like an exception and an outlier. I know many in your shoes who took advantage of an exclusive prep school from the ghetto and climbed the heights of the academic ladder. Your story does not impress. |
