When your DD got her period for the first time ....

The "maxi" thins do not work for her...she bleeds right thru them...any suggestions?

In what way is she not ready for tampons? I mean, as soon as you get your period aren't you ready for them? I know Playtex makes a line that's easier for younger girls - athletic or something - I can't remember what it's called. My suggestion is to have her use tampons - just try each brand until you find one that she likes best.

Always infinity. Very thin and works great for heavy flow. I can't wear tampons without discomfort, and these pads have changed my life.

My daughter's periods were so heavy that I finally consulted my gynecologist who took her in to her closed practice. Put her on Generess Fe - a BC pill - and it really reduced her agony. Wish I had done it earlier.

My mom had me using tampons starting with my very first period. Playtex (with the plastic applicators) are very easy to insert.

I had 2 girls,3 boys. My girls are now 13 and 16. My boys are 14,11,and 18. It is oretty crazy in the house with 5 teens. My 13 y/o told me when she was 12 (just turned 13).My 16 y/o started at 14. My daughters are always there for each other. They told eachother about periods before telling me LOL. I can hear them in their room (they share a room) talking about it. They are not so lucky, because my boys can hear them. But the boys only tell me they can hear, but they are rather mature about it. They know to act nice about it Bcause one time my 16 y/o got teased by my 14 y/o and she got really mad/sad. She cried alot that day, even when her best friend came over. I tried to talk to her, but she wanted to talk to her friend.

Can I confess that I'm 37 and have never used a tampon.

I hate tampons. They always feel like they're falling out.
I honestly wonder if it depends on each woman's anatomy.

Ask her to use both. A tampon and a pad. Especially at school.
