Moms with Awesome Skin 40+

Those of you who wear sunscreen daily...Do you wear actual sunscreen or is it just included in your mosturizer?

Moisturizer and then sunscreen.

50+ and I do absolutely nothing. Seriously. Absolutely. Nothing. Occasionally remember to apply sunscreen. It is largely genetics - and I am very fair.

In my moisturizer.

If I'm not going to be out in the sun a lot I just use moisturizer, plus BB cream with sunscreen. If I'm going to play tennis, work in the yard, go running or go to the pool, I use sunscreen with a high SPF -- at least 30. I also wear a hat (mostly to protect my hair). I wash my face every a.m. and p.m. with a light exfoliant scrub from Avena.

I have very few wrinkles because I used Retin A through my 20's for breakouts, get botox 2-3 times a year, and have started getting awesome Revitilize peels from my derm for $350 a pop. I also wear a hat and don't tan my face. Hate away, but I sure do look young.

Would you mind sharing the name of your dermatologist?

Is there any downtime for the revitalize peel?

Thanks for being honest!

How often do you have the peel done?

Anyone on this this thread over 45 who has not used Botox or seen a derma?

Yup -- I've posted before -- sunscreen, wash my face, drink lots of water, get enough sleep, genetics.

I'm not sure I'd say I have awesome skin, but it is probably better than most 40 yr olds. I even got carded yesterday, and I have been mistaken for a babysitter by another mom (although maybe that was a commentary on my casual attire???).

Sunscreen - high SPF Coppertone Sport when outside for any real length of time (since a kid)
Moisturizer with SPF - most days, either Cetaphil or Oil of Olay
LOTS of water, only one coffee per day, although I do enjoy my evening wine
Healthy diet - lots of produce, healthy fats, few carbs
gentle soaps (Cetaphil or Neutrogena)
Night cream or serum - sometimes Neutrogena, sometimes Clinique, sometimes Oil of Olay
Mia clarisonic - love this thing and how it gently exfoliates and cleans!
minimal makeup - just too lazy
Genetics - I have my dad's darker and oilier skin. Acne as a teen (and still have occasional problems), but fewer wrinkles than my mom
~5 lbs heavier than ideal

For those who have tried botox: do you have a dermatologist do it or do you use a plastic surgeon? Can you just do it in btwn your brows or do you need to do the whole forehead? Interested in trying it, but scared of it too! THX
