Yes, being able to walk to work is VASTLY preferable to the "Orange Crush." And there's always having to take cabs back home to VA if you go out in DC past closing time. What a PITA. If you're young, living directly IN the District of Columbia is better. |

I can't believe so few people have talked about Glover Park!
Honestly, it really depends on what his style is and what he is looking for. I lived in gtown, then glover (met DH there), lived there till we were married with one child. I agree though might not be for everyone. If he is at all a trendy hipster this area would be his personal version of hell. It is not diverse at all. We are very preppy so it was great for us. |

Also Mt Pleasant - it has lots of nice groups homes and a neighborhood vibe. Plus it is walkable to U street and columbia heights (or you can take the Circulator). Green line is not that crowded at rush hour compared to the other subway lines and just got additional trains.
but I agree it really depends on his style. |
