Sequoyah Elem is a problem school! Unlike 8 years ago when my oldest attended it has its many problems now! I bought my home for the area. No apt/town houses but, most of the kids who attend Sequoyah come from HOC homes and Emery Grove in Gburg. I think FARMS is VERY important as is the number of ESOL kids in the school. You will find at Sequoyah more kids getting help with learning basic English than anything else. This means the kids how have IEP's or 504 plans don’t' get the resources needed because learning basic English takes priority! Sequoyah does not get kids ready for their long term educational needs. This means as a parent I want my 8th grader to be in algebra in 8th grade. To achieve this starts in elementary school. Dr. Jasper the current principle is absolutely terrible! Her best interest is not for the kids long term education but to push them through elementary school and out of her way. Just my though as a parent ![]() |
Hmmm... maybe you need to spend a little time with "basic English." Lots of typos/misspellings in your little rant. Students with IEPs and 504 plans do not lose out to ESOL students--their resources are protected and they will get their required hours of service. Also, the OP of this thread has likely purchased her home and made her school decision by now, so great job on timely advice as well! |
What crawled up your ass and died? Signed, 2 acres in the Sherwood cluster in a regular house |
It is not! There are plenty of "regular" homes on Bowie Mill. Do you only drive up one half of the road? |
