How do you manage on maternity leave with 2 kids?

I SAH but I think it would be crazy to pull an older dc out of daycare where they have fun activities and socialization to sit at home with a newborn.

Agree completely. I SAH too, but I would absolutely keep the older child in daycare for numerous reasons. I would, however take them out earlier on most days and/or take them out once in a while for special mommy time once things settle down with the new baby. I would think that you would want older DC and younger DC to spend time together too.
