Seems a lot of the temples are more relevant to older people and immigrants from India, not American-born Hindus like myself.

This, exactly!!! Is there a group for parents in the same boat as us?

OP here - This has also been a problem for me. I usually go to Sri Mangal Mandhir or Sri Siva Vishnu Temple - both are in MD. Often, I feel like I'm the only person my age there. I would love to have a bhajans/Kirtan group of young families to get together once a month for like an hour. No pressure of food or entertaining but a light hearted spiritual group to expose my daughter to Bhakti yoga.

Not the OP, but I would suggest Chinmaya Mission. The main center is in Silver Spring, but they have satellite campuses on the weekends in Ashburn, Springfield, Frederick, maybe other places. My parents go and I have seen American Hindus there who have become part of the community. There is more of an emphasis on reading and understanding the Bhagavad Gita and vedic texts and on general spirituality. It's not as much about the rituals. They also have children's classes that are similar to Sunday school at a church.

Let me rephrase. No offense meant. Do Hindu women wear this kind of undergarments?

What does one's religion have to do with personal choice in underwear? And if I do or don't, how does that give you any information about what another Hindu woman does? It's a bizarre question.

I'm not the PP who asked this question but DH friend's wife came to me to ask for suggestions on where to get lingerie as soon as they hopped off the plane. DH's friend is American born and his wife was born in India, they married there and she moved here to live with her husband.

I took her to a few stores and we ended up shopping at Kohl's because she was not comfortable with things she found were beautiful - and not available in India.

Why the outrage?

I’m a high school student who lives in Sweden and I’m doing an assignment about where hinduism as a religion stands on the following issues:
- Female circumcision
- Female Genital Mutilation
- Honor killing

If you don’t know all the answers please do answer those you can, I’d really appreciate it ?
Thank you so much for taking you time and have a nice day

By the way it was a part of the assignment to interview or ask people who belonged to the religion for the answers so that you know that I'm not cheating
Just thought it'd be good to clarify lol

I'm here in DC and was going to ask about the view on abortion. I know what it is for Muslims, Christians, and Jews, but never really thought about Hinduism before. TIA.
