Sssshhhhh ... it's OK, baby. Momma understands. Just hug all that anger away.

Except with family and very close friends, I was not a hugger until recently. It just felt fake to hug people I wasn't all that close to. Then a dear friend of mine became ill and died. She was a wonderful and warm person who had many friendship circles which came together in the course of her illness as we all cared for her and her family. In her death, she gave us a gift of extended friendship with one another. Now, when I see the friends I got to know through this experience we hug and it feels very natural, not fake at all.

I'm still not a kissy person, though. We can change, but maybe not that much.
