Stimmt! Aber zeig' mir ein deutsches Restaurant bei dem kein Schnitzel auf der Speisekarte steht.

Good! More for me then.

If your ancestors were killed how were you ever born? |
Oh I take that. They should make great Sauerkraut and Flammkuchen then. |
Well there is nothing wrong with Turkish. This is ne of the great underrated cuisines. |
| i have been to doener bistro in leesburg and i LOVE IT. Their pommes are pretty good but their doeners are great. Their bratwurst comes on more traditional bread the way it does back home (Germany) and I love that they have a selection of alpenmich and kinder chocolates sold too. The selestions of beer are solid and come served int he appropriate glasses. Not an extensie menu but just think...tasty authentic food cart...in a store. Also they have radeler beir which is my favorite. I absolutely love doener bistro. Solid potions, great food, and good price. Does anyone know of any other doener places closer to the district? I would love to find a doener or german food truck/food cart. |

also to whoever said they had ancestors killed in the holocaust... the holocaust was an indescribable tragedy, but if you will judge an entire culture by the actions of one political party during a ten year period, you are truly closed minded. Do you refuse to eat Italian food too? THe catholics have killed countless jews (and christians for that matter) not to mention the Roman empire trampeling plenty of people... do you refuse to eat English food because they slaughtered millions of Africans during the Imperialistic period. Do yu refuse to eat a burger and fries because the Americans dessimated the indian population?
I am sorry but there is no way the smell of delicious pommes makes you sick, simply because some crazy nazis attacked your ancestors. remember than many of the jews who were victims were GERMAN and probably ate german food?? |
For the record, HAMBURGERS are German. Are they made of ham? No. They come from Hamburg....Germany. Where they generally call it "Frikadelle" or "Bulette" now. French fries...also not American. Even the Germans call them by their rightful name: Pomme Frite. Fried potatoes, french style.... So the quintessential American meal is..not really American. Also, you confused me by talking about Indians. I couldn't figure out how they got into this, until I realized you mean Native Americans.

PS. Decimated. A former tradition from the Roman Army:
A unit selected for punishment by decimation was divided into groups of ten; each group drew lots (Sortition), and the soldier on whom the lot fell was executed by his nine comrades, often by stoning or clubbing. |
