More than one bath mat-tacky?

eh, find two smaller bathmats and let your husband have warm feet.

I actually have two bath mats piled on top of each other next to my bathtub because I spend a lot of time on my knees, bathing my young daughter, and I'm 39 with old knees.

There are hundreds of options in between "bare tile floor" and "shag/tchotchke eruption." I bet you can find one that does not require telling DH his comfort and safety are less important than fashion. (I worked in an ER. Bathroom slip and falls are no joke.)

We have three - one big one at the sink, one contour one around the toilet, and one smaller one at the tub. Our bathroom is big, and the floor gets cold. Seems like an easy solution to me. I wash them every two weeks or so.

My grandma had a furry cover on the toilet *seat*. Now that was icky.

Why not get one large one? We have large ones (from Ikea) in our bathrooms - 1 in each - enough to cover getting from the shower or bath to the sink.
