Sloppy people with housecleaners - a question

I don't use a service, but wondered whether the service wouldn't clean your house anyway if you didn't "tidy up" first? Are you trying to make less work for them? Or are you trying to create an impression that you are not quite as sloppy as you really are?


The cleaners I used to use would charge $25 extra if things weren't picked up and they had to spend more time because of that. I think the owners could tell we were slobs when she gave us the quote. That was fine, I don't want someone picking up stuff and putting it where I won't find it. I want them to do the floors and other real cleaning tasks that I dislike.
