Here's a few comments of what went on with Bush http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=22750 This event included Margaret Cho, Moby, Michael Moore, Chuck D and Julia Stiles Rosanne Barr weighing in http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/837258/posts CNN Report Susan Roesgen http://www.wikio.com/video/susan-roesgen-cnn-bush-hilter-hitler-1025813 Also not Hitler but Kanye West saying George Bush does not like Black People http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/03/AR2005090300165.html |
For the record, I posted the comments above and I am jewish. I hate people throwing around the Hitler comparison without really thinking.
Hitler killed millions of people based on his crazy thinking about the master race. I am no Obama fan but he is not doing that. Neither did George Bush. Disagree about policies but stop cheapening the memory of the millions that died. |
/thread.
TMWAU! Your rational, factual statements have no place on a thread about Hitler and Hank Williams, Jr.! |
This article has a celebrity saying that Bush is not Hitler, but no celebrities saying that Bush is Hitler. Did you even read the article? Barr does not call Bush Hitler. The original article is not accessible via the link contained on the rightwing website to which you linked. It is not possible from Barr's quotes to tell whether the author's interpretation is correct.
You obviously did not pay attention to this. It had nothing to do with Bush being called Hitler. It had to do with Obama being called a fascist.
As you say, nothing about calling Bush Hitler. Glenn Beck said Obama didn't like white people. I'll concede that Beck and West are idiots of similar caliber. Essentially, you haven't found a single celebrity calling Bush Hitler. Instead, you found a celebrity saying Bush isn't Hitler, and several unrelated incidents. Complete and utter fail. |
Go back to your knitting. Sports fans talking here. |
Glad I read ahead - saved me some work, when I could tell just from the post that there wasn't going to be anything in the links. The real annoying part of this is that I specifically asked in advance if PP was planning on moving the goal posts. So again, where's that person who complains that I focus too much on the Rep tactic of crying victim of the very things that they do? If it keeps on happening, as it did here, I'm going to keep on pointing it out. |
Hey! LOL. I knit during games... |
Muffler and hat in team colors, I hope. |
But of course. |
Looking at the tape, I did not see Williams saying Obama is a Hitler, I saw him using Hitler and Netanyahu as the ultimate enemies to illustrate how crazy it is for one of "us" (Boehner) to be on a golf course with the enemy (Obama).
Regarding Obama as the enemy of conservatives is not an unusual stance, I'd say. Given his views, I don't think Williams said anything that's worth the fuss this is getting. |
But later on, Carlson refers to him comparing Obama to Hitler, and rather than clarify he acknowledges it. (Right? - going from memory.) As I said, I don't think he originally was either, but then he decided to keep charging forward. Something pathetic about this boob getting caught that way, but bluster is a double-edged sword. |
One thing I can say for sure is that Junior is not doing anything to change the perception that he is as dumb as a rock. He just posted the following statement on his website:
"After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run." http://www.hankjr.com/ The DCUM grammar police would have a field day with this. But, given I'm more a part of the political brigade, I'll point out to Hank, Jr. that he has no 1st Amendment protections from ESPN. To the contrary, there are specific limitations on speech that are applied to cable channels such as ESPN. |
Dear Hank: Your first amendment protection guarantees you the right to say and sing about whatever you want.
It does not guarantee you a paycheck if you turn into a douchebag. You are entitled to your opinion, not a job. |
So...where is he going? |
He's writing a new song, "Are you ready to be fairly balanced?", hoping for a Fox gig. |
