I also had a second degree tear. Twice daily sitz baths with Epsom salts made a huge difference for me in recovery.

Your mistake was looking at 3 weeks. After my 6 week checkup doctor told me all was normal, so I looked then. Honestly could not see a scar, and ?I also had 2nd degree tear. Husband notices no difference. Scars get better over time. Just like those with c-sections said, a csection scar is pretty horrifying at 3 weeks. Yes, there are a small percentage of women who have more serious complications from tears, but women with vaginal deliveries recover very quickly.

Sorry, PP. You will heal, but next time opt for the section. Scar tissue won't gave the same sensation during sex, so you might not want any additional trauma down there with a subsequent vaginal delivery.
