THISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHIS If DUCM existed 2000 years ago and gave the Sermon on the Mount, these would be the posts: DG feeds his flock like they are on a diet. WTF!?! (Rant) No Sunday Afternoon Sermons, Please! Men in gowns who like children a little too much (creepy) To all you Jesus people out there !$%&^#&! Traffic (why do you have to speak at rush hour?!!) Dear Poor in Spirit: What makes you think you are so special?!! |
Honestly, I've been grateful for them too in this awful heat, which makes me want to sleep 24/7 (as opposed to the 22/7 that I want to sleep in normal weather, lol). What cracks me up is when I see spaces like these in front of baby stores (e.g. the Buy, Buy Baby in Rockville). Really?? I mean 95% of the people who shop there are either pregnant or have small children. |
| I was pregnant last summer during the atrocious heat and also had something wrong with my pelvis that made walking excruciating. I appreciated the spots the few times I had to make a trip to a store which had them. |
| Messages on my answering machine from my MIL saying "hi, it's mom, just wondering if everyone is ok. We haven't heard from anyone in awhile" read it in your most snarky voice. We talk to her every week, for 45 minutes, usually during dinner, with kids screaming |

I'm 32 weeks and very grateful for those pregnant parking spots especially when I'm toting my toddler into the store in sweltering heat.

you're a jerk. Like a PP said, it is a safety issue for me. I have a 3yo and 4 month old and it's safer if they are NEXT to the car while I get them in and out rather than behind the car. Here's something that annoys me. People who park so close to you that you can barely get your infant in and out of the car without touching their baby skin on the burning hot door or door frame of the car. |

I was also my most pregnant during a heat wave - and I loved those spaces.
I remember the day they paved our street - and told us we couldn't drive on it until 5pm. It was about 100 degrees and I literally sat in my air-conditioned car and waited until 5pm on the dot and drove on the freshly paved road. In pre-preganncy days, I wouldn't have given a second thought to a longer walk home - even in the heat. But in pregnancy days, every inch counted. I've never noticed a family spot. Make sense near daycares. For the caller whose MIL calls with great annoyance, implying you haven't spoken in a long time - do we share a MIL? Mine actually leaves the message "why don't you people call me back?" in a nasty voice. And - that is her first message - even though the tone implies she's been calling for weeks and we are ignoring her. |
