If a woman is unhealthy and anorexic, you say she needs a cheeseburger and get your panties in a twist that she's a bad role model for your kids. Now here you have a NORMAL looking girl who happens to wear clothes with confidence despite being more of a girl next door than a model beauty. WTF is wrong with you? This is so much of a better role model for women than the Kate Mosses of the world. Ugh. Y'all make me wanna vom.

I completely agree.[/quote

Add me to the list. It never amazes me that someone choosing to be in the public eye becomes e a free for all justification for people to be downright nasty. I am really amazed at how willing some women are to tear down other women,.

I don't. She is U-G-L-Y and there ain't no getting around it. The girls who live next door to us are all wayyyyyy prettier. As for role models, this chick is NO role model. She has chosen to put herself out there, she is a totally celebrity-wanna-be and that makes her fair game. Okay, so yes, her confidence is cool but we areb't talking about her attitude or her IQ or her persoanlity, we are talking about her looks and man are they poor.

Why exactly are celebrity wannabes necessarily fair game for the destructive kind of name calling and tearing down you are engaging in. Because guess what--there is another girl somewhere in your neighborhood who is not as pretty as your neighbors, and feeling pretty shitty about themselves in some way because bitches like you insist on furthering some ridiculous, traditional notion of beauty.

My daughter is not beautiful and I hardly expect people to go around saying she is.

No, but no one has to go around saying she is U-G-L-Y or fugly, as so middle school stated in this thread. I am not sure what the point is of being so malicious? For maliciousness's sake? It's so pointless and cruel to me, as well as damaging for all women.

Good for Rumer! I know she's riding on the fame of her parents, but if I could do that for my kids and give them an opportunity not open to all, I'd do it.

And what a face she has! Eek!

Maybe she looks better in person. Just like the kids getting into schools based parents only ....well at least she isn't an anorexic tranny looking type.

For all of those that post pictures of Rumer Willis and call her names, I do think that you should post your own picture as well.

Why? Nobody here is making money by their looks. It's hardly relevant. And nobody is calling Rumer ugly to her face, are they? I don't really care if people deride me behind my back--it's not exactly hurtful if you don't know about it.

I'm sure all of you that are being so sanctimonious about this have NEVER said anything nasty about someone, right? Thought so.

No, I say nasty things all the time In fact, I am about to say one...right...now. You are mean and beyond shallow, with some pathological need to call people out for not fitting your image of what a model or mole beauty should be. You hurt women, you hurt girls, and you hurt the universe by projecting your pointless negativity into it.

Nasty accomplished for the day/

This pretty much means I should have enormous contracts with all the major modeling agencies right now.

hey, its easier in life to be attractive. we all know that. and we all know that even with good looking parents you are playing the genetic lottery.

I think my daughter is going to grow up to be really pretty, and I hope so, if only because I know that attractive people tend to have an easier life. If not, we obviously won't love her any less.

I don't think Bruce is her father at all. This is who her real father is

I actually do NOT do nasty very often and try hard not to. Look, picking on someone for their looks or their intelligence is the proverbial low-hanging fruit. Do I sometimes see people and make instant judgments based on what they look like, wear, or say? Yes. Do I think some singers on the radio are talentless? Yes. And I suppose that sometimes I do make value judgments. However the purpose of this thread wasn't to discern talent from raw talent or even to have a philosophical discussion about whether Rumer is anything but a famous person with a face that's perceived as "not hot enough" or if she's some kind of role model. It was about an OP with too much time on her hands picking on someone because she can. And OP will probably raise a daughter or son who will grow up listening to mom making dismissive and mean comments about strangers "ha ha ha look at that person's pants, they're so fugly" and learn that people deserve to be judged on their looks. And another PP's kids will grow up thinking it's okay to talk shit on people as long as it's behind their back. I used to make these derisive comments all of the time and then I kind of heard myself through someone else's ears once and ever since then have been striving to be kind to people, even when they can't hear me. There's a spiritual saying I saw on a bus stop or a bumper somewhere that said "don't look down on a man unless you intend to help him up." Even though I'm not a terribly spiritual person, I try to make that my M.O. The golden rule and all.

We are simply saying that if her parents were not who they are, she would not have this job. If it were you and me, it would be a different story. No?

I totally agree as well. Although I don't think she's naturally pretty (but do think she has beautiful eyes and coloring), it's refreshing to not see another skinny, faux tan, fake blonde model that are a dime a dozen.
