Should schools serve chocolate milk and other sweets at lunch?

And 00:21, seriously? You want them to think of foods in terms of "treat" and "nontreat," with an apple as in ting he treat category? So, what, like 2 apples a week?

Oh for crying out loud, I mean wouldn't it be great if our children enjoyed eating things like apples. Calling it a 'treat' was maybe confusing on my part, but what I meant was, wouldn't it be great if, when wanting something sweet to enjoy, our kids reached for an apple, or a pear, or an orange instead of wanting cake or cookies? And yes, candy, and cookies, and chocolate milk are "treats" to be enjoyed occasionally, but not daily, or at least not at each meal. Is that really controversial? Saying that schools should offer children apples instead of "sweets" has you disagreeing with me?

Jesus Christ.

Don't blame him. He turned water into wine, not chocolate milk!

(And if he'd wanted to, he could've turned sugar into cocaine and vitamin pills into amphetamines.)

Everything in moderation. I worry about the kids on free and reduced priced lunches and breakfasts who eat this crap twice a day. No wonder so many low income kids are overweight. The food they are given in school twice a day is crap. Only in America would the poorest kids be the fattest.

I totally agree with this. The school lunches are appalling. We eat a pretty healthy diet at home so chocolate milk is not a big deal one way or the other. I would be fine with chocolate milk being served with a healthy school lunch (and if it was real chocolate milk, not milk with corn syrup and flavoring).
